They feature a simple single zipper and a mummy style hood that would continue to be iterated upon by the United States into the 1980s. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile the United States did not mass-manufacture and issue down sleeping bags to general infantry during the conflict, early down bags such as these were issued for more specialized use cases where the threat of water and moisture was either diminished or the users deemed capable of mitigating the shortcomings inherent to down insulation. As a result, these bags were only really issued to the Tenth Mountain Division and, occasionally, members of the USAAF.
