WWI-era surplus? AP, you have to be joking! Nope. We have some.
The Model 1910 Canvas Puttee was worn by US Army troops between 1910 and 1917. When US soldiers arrived in France and began to gain experience in trench warfare these puttees were replaced by the more practical wool leg wraps issued by European militaries.
This batch of puttees was manufactured by Western Brand and is in unissued condition. Of course this does not mean they're brand new. They've sat in boxes for over one hundred years.
These puttees will have some storage stains as pictured. This was caused by the acidity in depot boxes.
The Short & Sweet:
- Genuine WWI-era US Army surplus
- Unissued condition, storage stains present
- Canvas construction
- Ties at top and bottom
- One eyelet and hook in the middle
