The Mitchell or "wine leaf" pattern was originally developed for use by the US Army and Marine Corps. While it is most famous for its use on helmet covers during the Cold War, many other nations adopted variations of the pattern for use on field uniforms and other gear.
The Indonesian variant of Mitchell was first adopted in 1975 for use by the airborne elements of their Army's KOSTRAD (Komando Cadangan Strategis Angkatan Darat). It was phased out at some point, but reintroduced recently for ceremonial purposes.
